A Traditional Real Estate Teaching Academy


With the advent of distance learning and classes being taught off the internet or from pre-recorded tapes, Central Alabama Real Estate Academy was founded in the Spring of 2004 with the goal of providing a traditional approach to teaching. Class cohesion would be maintained by having all classes start together and accepting no mid entrants.


The Academy which is owned by Montgomery Metro Realty was licensed by the State of Alabama, Department of Post Secondary Education , May 2004. A class schedule is available for each course along with entrance qualification, tuition, administrative fees, and graduation requirements. This information will be provided upon request.


Mission


To provide a professional real estate school using traditional teaching methods, guest speakers, real life examples, and a single class philosophy with all students starting and ending together. The school will strive to provide academic excellence with a commitment to producing highly successful and professional real estate agents benefiting themselves and the public they serve.


Curriculum


Central Alabama Real Estate Academy has been approved by the Alabama Real Estate Commission to teach the following courses of instruction:

  • 60 - Hour Pre-License Course.
  • 15 - Broker's Pre-License Course.
  • 30 - Hour Post License Course.
  • 3 - Hour Continuing Education Courses to include: Alabama License Law; RECAD (Real Estate Consumer's Agency and Disclosure Act); Risk Management; and Fair Housing.

The Founders:


Dan Stallings CRB CRS GRI - Academy Director, Dan has been the broker of Montgomery Metro Realty since 1981. He is an active member of the Montgomery Area Association of REALTORS®.


Jim VanErmen ABR CRS, is a former Army Officer, graduate of the Army's Command & General Staff College and Air Force Instructor School. A licensed real estate agent since 1989, and an approved Alabama Real Estate Instructor in 1999.


Admission Procedures


Although the Academy has an open door policy and will enthusiastically train all students who desire to learn the information, the State of Alabama places a number of requirements on becoming a real estate agent. These are discussed at length in the first class of the Pre-License Course and are further listed on the Course Description Sheet (CDS). Any student wishing to drop or cancel the course by the end of the 2nd class will be provided a 100% refund of all tuition and fees with the return of all provided study materials. The State of Alabama also has attendance and completion requirements which are also listed on the CDS and available upon request.


A school calendar will be provided to all students enrolled in any course 30 hours or more in length. Classes are scheduled based upon the needs of the local community.


Central Alabama Real Estate Academy


Central Alabama Real Estate Academy was issued a Private School License by the State of Alabama Post Secondary Education license #1220-1 on May 3, 2004, and granted official approval as a real estate school by the Alabama Real Estate Commission, school code #76477 on May 11, 2004. The first course of instruction, 60 - Hour Pre-License Course, began the first part of June 2004 with continuing education courses being taught throughout the summer of 2004.
